Hack Kosice is one of the biggest student hackathons in Europe. In March 2020, 250 international students would have attended second year of Hack Kosice. The current situation regarding the SARS-CoV-2 virus made us reschedule Hack Kosice to September. However, for now, we are introducing Hack Kosice Digital.
An fully online, international based hackathon that unifies "best brains" to fight the pandemic. Hack Kosice Digital, supported by Major League Hacking, is a full weekend online event so you can get enough of sleep! We will be pushing the winning projects to health authorities!   (Officially, it is possible to meet at the specified venue location, however, if coronavirus-related restrictions don't allow to do so, you can, too, join the hackathon fully online!)

Eligibility

Only students who are currently enrolled at a high school, college, university or graduated in past 12 months are eligible to attend.

Prizes

Winner

The most stunning invention - can be anything related to COVID-19. All projects are implicitly enrolled. Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!

Health Challenge

This prize goes to the product that has the potential to save most lives through helping medicine. Medical guidance, health monitoring, symptom recognition, or helping doctors are important tasks. Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!

Social Challenge

A crisis is challenging in many social aspects of life. This prize is aimed at helping to relieve stress, improving communication, delivering news effectively, avoiding disinformation, and similar. Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!

Services Challenge

This one is aimed at handling the limitations that covid-19 can put services such as package delivery and grocery stores. It is crucial that we invent ways of running services with less human effort. Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!

Data Challenge

We have plenty of data and predictions about covid-19 already. In this challenge, we are looking for new, out-of-the-box use of data. Models that are not just informative but have impact on other industries. Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!

Deployment Challenge

Currently it is important that solutions are deployed fast. The solution that goes online and gains most real-world users after 2 weeks will win a special prize. Every project is eligible for this prize and this is the most important one! Just please keep in touch in us until 13 April (when this will be judged) - we'll need to monitor how your user base grows :) Winners will get valuable DO credits from Digital Ocean!
